Font was originally slated to fight Dominick Cruz next weekend, but Cruz withdrew from the event after suffering an injury while training and subsequently retired from MMA. Font will now take on Matsumoto, who enters the fight with a perfect 16-0 record as a professional and is 2-0 since joining the UFC last April.

He managed to bounce back in October against Kyler Phillips and now looks to start a new winning streak against a big name in Cruz. Font may struggle a bit to defend the takedown, but he's a younger fighter than Cruz, as well as a higher-volume striker.
